A half Japanese triathlete in the heart of Tokyo, Motozo is a somewhat veteran runner with recent fondness for triathlons and ironmans. Motozo also dabbles in Japan equity investments in between long rides, swims, and runs.
The last 10 years or so:
1997: Came back to Japan after business school in Oregon.
1998: Raced in first duathlon in Japan
1999: Moved back to NY. Ran first marathon in NY, 3:48:05
2000: Moved back to Tokyo with WI Carr Securities
2001: Ran 3rd marathon in NY: 3:33:06
2002: Left WI Carr and began training with Nanban Rengo!
2002: Traveled around the world via Trans-Siberian Xpress while training for a marathon.
2002: Returned to Tokyo from 3 month world travels, and ran a PB in Ohtawara, 3:09:52.
2004: Completed first triathlon in Iwate ken.
2006: First half-ironman triathlon in Sado island.
2007: PB in Tokyo Marathon, 3:08:50
2008: Completed first full ironman in Zurich, Switzerland with an 11:57:58.
2009: Ran a half marathon with Megumi Hirasawa around Ashinoko, Hakone, and got married on the lake.
2010: Ran 3 olympic triathlons, injured knee cartilage in Oshima, but finished Aizu anyway.
2011e: Not there yet…who can say, but many bike rides?
