No one will award this course a prize for beauty, but the Arakawa Marathon is a well-organized spring marathon close to the center of Tokyo attracting some 12,000 runners. The out-and-back course along the banks of the Arakawa River is pancake flat. Although March weather is fickle, and a wind affected race should be expected, the course can reward runners with a good time if the weather is kind.
